9 Tips to grow your hair thick, long and fast naturally. All these tips that I've gathered over the years will help you grow your hair longer and faster naturally. Consistency is key so make sure you're doing as many of these tips as you can for optimum results.

1. Massaging your scalp

Massaging your scalp while shampooing your hair or applying an oil treatment will really help stimulate your hair growth. You can use the help of a hair scalp massager. Massaging your scalp will also clear up any build up or clogged hair follicles to encourage healthy hair growth. Massage your scalp upside down for a few minutes daily; This brings more blood flow to the scalp which will promote healthy hair growth. 

2. Onion Juice

Using the juice of an onion on your scalp will also help promote new hair growth even in places where you're balding when used consistently. Use this method at least once a week for the best results. Leave the onion juice on your scalp for 10-15 minutes before shampooing.

3. Castor Oil

Castor oil is also known to cause hair growth. Ensure your castor oil is cold pressed and 100% pure. Use this oil by mainly focusing it on your scalp as it can be very thick and hair to remove from the rest of your hair.

4. Oil Treatments

Using an at home oil treatment regularly will keep your hair and scalp healthy and nourished. Adding peppermint essential oil into your oil treatment will stimulate your hair follicles. Flip your head upside down for a couple minutes while massaging the oils into your scalp. Being upside down will bring more blood flow to your scalp and encourage faster hair growth. For your oil treatments, I recommend you use either coconut oil, olive oil or almond oil. Use an oil treatment at least once a week for best results.

5. Heat protectant

Avoid using excessive heat on your hair if you can help it but if you must, ensure you are applying a good alcohol-free heat protectant before using a blowdryer or a heat styling tool. You should also be applying a heat protectant if you're going to be out in the sun because the sun can also cause heat damage to your hair. Make sure your heat protectant does not contain any alcohol as this can be counter productive and actually dry out your hair.

6. Sleeping

Sleeping in a braid or 2 braids is important for reducing hair damage. This will also help your natural hair oils to travel down the lengths of your hair. Sleeping on a silk or satin pillow case will also help in reducing the amount of damage to your hair since other fabrics or materials can pull on the hair and cause damage while sleeping.

7. Diet

Your diet is also an important factor in the results of your hair growth. Eating more protein rich foods will help your hair grow faster and stronger. Also make sure you are drinking plenty of water and staying hydrated throughout the day, especially in the winter months when everything tends to be more dry.

8. Hair ties

When tying your hair up, make sure you are using a scrunchie or invisible hair coil instead of elastic bands as they are less damaging to your hair.

9. Split ends

If you have any split ends in your hair, ensure to cut each one of them off weekly when you find them to make sure they don't travel up your hair shaft and cause more damage to the rest of your hair. You don't need to get a trim every month if you can keep up with trimming all of your split ends individually. In order to continue growing out your hair, it needs to be healthy.

Oil & keratin treatments can help bring life back to damaged hair. Keratin treatments should be used sparingly. Use these treatments as the first step towards healthier hair.
